In a violent incident, RJD leader Rajkumar Rai was shot and killed in Patna on Wednesday night. The shooting occurred around 10:00 PM near Rajendra Nagar Terminal. The police are currently reviewing CCTV footage as part of their investigation into the murder. Rai, who was a key figure in the political landscape and also engaged in land deals, was shot and later died while being taken to a hospital.
According to Patna East SP Parichay Kumar, “A shooting took place in lane number seventeen in front of Rajendra Nagar Terminal. The victim has been identified as Rajkumar alias Ala Rai. The individuals responsible were captured on CCTV. Further suspects may be involved. It is understood that the victim was politically involved and dealt in land. Our investigators are exploring every angle of the situation. The entire police force is devoted to looking into the circumstances of this event, which unfolded around 10 PM.”
Details suggest that Rai was attacked near his car. He sought refuge in a nearby hotel after being shot, but the attackers followed him and continued firing. One of the bullets struck the hotel’s refrigerator. Police arrived quickly and took Rai to PMCH, where he was pronounced dead. The police found six spent cartridges at the scene.
