A vigilance team in the Khagaria district of Bihar has arrested a female ASI and a watchman for taking a bribe. The ASI had solicited the bribe from the victim in exchange for expediting the investigation and filing a charge sheet. Following a complaint, the vigilance team devised a plan and successfully apprehended the two individuals.
The case originated from a bank loan, and Anil Kumar Shah’s wife had filed the case at the Sadar police station. ASI Seema Kumari was the investigating officer, who initially asked for 10,000 rupees, later increasing it to 20,000 rupees, for the investigation and filing of the charge sheet. Watchman Veeru Paswan was also involved. Mamta Devi informed her husband, Anil Shah, about the bribe demand.
