Patna AIIMS is currently experiencing a significant disturbance, with resident doctors staging a work stoppage due to a clash involving Shivhar JDU MLA Chetan Anand. Both the MLA and AIIMS staff have filed First Information Reports (FIRs) related to the incident, which involved allegations of physical assault and misconduct. The police are actively reviewing CCTV footage as part of their investigation. The incident unfolded when MLA Chetan Anand, accompanied by his supporters, visited the hospital to see a patient. Anand has alleged that he was mistreated by AIIMS security personnel, leading him to file a formal complaint. The City SP confirmed that complaints have been filed by both parties. The Resident Doctors Association (RDA) has written to the medical superintendent, seeking action against the MLA and demanding heightened security measures. The RDA’s letter alleges that the MLA, his wife, and armed security personnel forcibly entered the hospital, assaulted security staff, threatened resident doctors, and brandished a weapon. MLA Anand maintains that the incident began when he and his wife were prevented from visiting a supporter, leading to a confrontation with hospital staff. Lovely Anand, the MLA’s mother, is a JDU MP.
