The political landscape in Bihar is charged as parties gear up for the assembly elections. While accusations fly, the core issue of seat allocation within the Mahagathbandhan continues to be a challenge. The RJD has reportedly signaled that it will not concede to Congress demands regarding seat-sharing. The party has made it clear that it is unwilling to exchange seats based on a winnability factor.
The RJD is managing the complex situation, considering the inclusion of new allies, Mukesh Sahani, Pashupati Paras, and Hemant Soren. The distribution of seats among these parties is adding another layer to the negotiation. RJD sources are also considering increasing the number of seats allocated to the Left parties given their performance.
This could mean both the RJD and the Congress contesting fewer seats than in the previous election cycle. The Congress, which is seeking 70 seats, has been informed by the RJD that its seat share will be reduced and that it will have to select its seats from the remaining pool.
