A significant issue has arisen in Bihar as two Pakistani women were included in the voter list in Bhagalpur. This came to light during a verification process by the Ministry of Home Affairs, focusing on foreign nationals. Imrana Khanam and Firdousia Khanam, both residing in the area, were issued voter ID cards and went through the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) ahead of the 2025 assembly elections. The Booth Level Officer in charge of verification confirmed the receipt of information from the Election Department, based on a communication from the Home Ministry. The women are now required to provide their side with the necessary documents to explain their presence on the voter list. The investigation also highlighted that the women had been verified during the SIR process.
