The discovery of two Pakistani women on Bihar’s voter list has sparked controversy. The women, reportedly in India for around seven decades, were identified during a Ministry of Home Affairs verification aimed at identifying foreign nationals with expired visas. Voter ID cards were issued to Imrana Khanam (Imrana Khatoon) and Firdousia Khanam. The women’s names were verified during the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) process, and ID cards were issued. The Booth Level Officer (BLO) involved in the verification stated they were notified by the election department, based on a formal communication from the Home Ministry on August 11. Notices will be sent to the women, and they will need to provide supporting documents to the authorities.
