A recent declaration by RJD leader Urmila Thakur has created a significant stir in Bihar’s political circles. Thakur compared Lalu Prasad Yadav to Lord Shiva, which led to immediate condemnation from BJP and JDU leaders. The controversial remarks were made during an event in the Muzaffarpur district for the unveiling of a BR Ambedkar statue.
During her speech, Thakur lauded Lalu Yadav, describing him as an incarnation. A video of her speech showed Thakur saying, “After Shiva, if there is any other living God, a God on earth, or a blessing God, then that is Lalu Prasad Yadav.”
Criticism from JDU and BJP was swift. JDU leader Neeraj Kumar stated that Lalu Yadav’s actions were devastating for Bihar. BJP spokesperson Prabhakar Mishra condemned the comparison, labeling it an insult to the principles of Sanatan Dharma.
