The Bihar government is making it easier for residents to obtain essential documents, including ration cards, through an online platform. This move, a key initiative of the Nitish Kumar administration, allows citizens to apply for ration cards from their homes, eliminating the need to visit government offices. The online portal, accessible at Rconline.bihar.gov.in, offers a user-friendly interface for registration and application. The ‘One Nation One Ration Card’ scheme further enhances convenience by enabling cardholders to collect their food grains from any ration shop across the country. Under the Antyodaya Anna Yojana, cardholders receive subsidized food, including 35 kg of grains for eligible families. The online application process requires applicants to upload necessary documents like Aadhaar cards and bank passbooks, promoting transparency and efficiency. The scheme is especially helpful for women and the elderly.
