A state-run madrassa in the Katihar district of Bihar is facing a crisis as snakes have made it their home. The Islamia Madrassa, located in the Laguwa-Dasgram Panchayat, has seen over a dozen venomous snakes emerge in the past two days. This has resulted in the madrassa being shut down for one week. The head cleric of the madrassa mentioned that the snakes are ‘gehunvan’ snakes and are very dangerous. Concerned parents have also expressed their worries, citing the dilapidated condition of the madrassa buildings, including damaged floors and walls.
