A shocking incident of murder has occurred in Jehanabad, Bihar, where an elderly man was killed because of a dispute over five rupees. The incident happened in the Koko police station area. The victim was identified as Mousin Alam, 70, who was engaged in farming. The murder has stirred outrage among the local residents.
The enraged residents blocked the National Highway in protest. The police managed to convince them to lift the blockade after a considerable amount of time. The accused in the murder is a vegetable market agent named Vicky Patel. It is alleged that Vicky killed Mousin. Reports indicate that the market committee agents collect fees from vendors selling goods in the market.
The elderly man used to sell vegetables in the market. Like him, many others also sell their goods there. According to reports, the elderly man went to the market to sell vegetables on Wednesday as usual. Vicky Patel, the market committee agent, asked for 15 rupees as a fee from the elderly man. The elderly man gave him 10 rupees, but the accused, Vicky, insisted on the remaining five rupees.
When the elderly man refused to pay, Vicky punched him in the chest. The elderly man immediately fell to the ground and died on the spot. Vicky then fled. Following the elderly man’s death, people became furious. They placed the elderly man’s body on the Jehanabad-Ekangsarai NH-33, blocked it, and began protesting.
This caused long queues of vehicles on both sides of the road. After about half an hour, administrative officials arrived. They assured the public that the accused had been identified and would be arrested soon. The protesters then relented and removed the blockade.
