In response to recent developments in Nepal, including a ‘Gen Z’ movement and jailbreak incidents, the Bihar government has intensified security measures in its border regions. A high-level meeting was held on September 10, 2025, under the chairmanship of Chief Secretary Pratyay Amrit, to discuss and strategize on the matter. District Magistrates (DMs) and Superintendents of Police (SPs) from the districts sharing a border with Nepal participated through video conferencing.
The key focus of the meeting was to assess and prepare for potential challenges arising from events in Nepal. The Chief Secretary provided detailed instructions to the District Magistrates and Police Superintendents. Notably, the order was issued to strictly monitor the entry of all individuals crossing the border into Bihar. No person would be allowed to enter without a thorough check.
Additional instructions included increasing surveillance around key locations such as bridges, railway stations, and power plants within the state. The aim was to avert any unforeseen occurrences. During the meeting, officials were assured that they could directly contact the Chief Secretary or the Director General of Police (DGP) for immediate assistance if needed. The intent was to ensure prompt decision-making and avoid delays.
The meeting was attended by the Director General of Police (DGP) Vinay Kumar, and Additional Director General (ADG) Kundan Krishnan along with senior officials from the Home Department, divisional commissioners and district officials who connected via video conference.
