The audacity of criminals in Bihar is on display with a recent theft at the home of a BJP MLA in the VIP area of 12, Circular Road, under the Secretariat Police Station. The thieves, seemingly undeterred, made off with essential household items including fans, coolers, and even the taps.
The victim, Murari Prasad Gautam, a former minister in the Congress quota during the Mahagathbandhan government, resides in a high-security area. The proximity of the Chief Minister’s residence and the former Chief Minister Rabri Devi’s home further underscores the security breach. Gautam, who later joined the BJP and is now a legislator, had initially supported the NDA.
Following the discovery of the theft on June 22, Gautam reported that the stolen items included fans, coolers, the bed, and the taps. He suspects those who are addicted to drugs are involved. He has reported the incident to the police.
A formal complaint has been filed, and police officials have inspected the premises. Gautam expressed his concern about the anti-social elements living nearby, urging the authorities to take action against them, and suggested that the theft was likely the work of residents of nearby shantytowns.
