The Amrit Bharat Express is gaining traction as a comfortable travel option, succeeding the Vande Bharat Express. Its affordability is a key factor in its increasing popularity, as stated by the Railway Board. A Railway Board official highlighted the train’s contribution to India’s self-reliance. The design and features of the Amrit Bharat Express are attracting travelers, reflecting the nation’s evolving image. Though premium trains such as Vande Bharat, Shatabdi, and Rajdhani are already operational, the Amrit Bharat Express has quickly gained recognition. Passenger comfort is a key priority on this train.
The train is giving the Vande Bharat a tough competition in terms of occupancy, with almost all seats filled. The train also boasts advanced safety features, providing a great option for railway passengers. The train allows the common public to travel 1000 kilometers for ₹500 in the unreserved category. It is an AC train. Currently, 12 Amrit Bharat Express trains are running across the country.
Three new Amrit Bharat Express trains will be launched in Bihar today, adding to the 10 existing routes originating from the state. With the addition of these new trains, the total number of Amrit Bharat Express trains will reach 15, with 13 serving Bihar. These trains will connect Muzaffarpur-Charalapalli (near Hyderabad), Darbhanga-Madar Junction (near Ajmer), and Chhapra-Anand Vihar.
The Amrit Bharat is a prime example of Indian Railways’ modernization efforts. The train is not only economical but also equipped with advanced features like semi-automatic couplers, a fire detection system, sealed gangways, and talkback units.
