At a TV9 Digital meeting in Begusarai, Bihar, before the upcoming assembly elections, JDU Chief Whip (Cabinet Minister rank) Raj Kumar Singh discussed the unity within the NDA. He dismissed any internal confusion and emphasized the solidarity of the coalition partners. Singh, who previously won from the Matihani constituency on an LJP ticket, later joined JDU.
Singh addressed his relationship with Union Minister Chirag Paswan, describing their interactions as positive and friendly. He highlighted that the NDA’s five parties were working together effectively. Singh reiterated that the NDA was united and confident of winning the elections.
He also stated that there was no animosity towards Chirag Paswan, adding that every party aims for its leaders to rise in prominence. Singh regarded Chirag Paswan as a forward-thinking young leader and predicted that working with Nitish Kumar would enhance his leadership skills for Bihar.
Focusing on the Matihani constituency, Singh predicted a substantial victory, supported by the combined votes of Chirag Paswan, JDU, and BJP, which exceed 60% of the total votes.
When asked about his decision to join JDU, Singh stated his belief that development in Matihani would best be achieved under Nitish Kumar’s leadership. He emphasized that his objective was to support development, and he was pleased with the current unity within the NDA, which included Chirag Paswan.
He clarified that he does not control the district administration but cooperates with it for public welfare, which also depends on the cooperation from public representatives.
Singh said that he and his party have always maintained discipline in the elections, never facing accusations of violating the election code of conduct.
He underscored the unified nature of the NDA, with each of its five partners assessing every seat, and their collective goal is to win 225 seats to re-establish Nitish Kumar’s government, providing Bihar with a stable government.
Commenting on Prashant Kishor, Singh suggested that Kishor’s focus was not on securing victory for his party but on weakening Nitish Kumar. Singh also asserted that the NDA is significantly ahead in the upcoming election.
Regarding not becoming a minister after joining JDU, Singh said that he had no regrets, stating that his main goal was not solely to become a minister. He expressed satisfaction with his work for the people of Matihani.
