Speaking at an India गठबंधन (Alliance) rally in Sasaram, Bihar, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge strongly criticized the BJP and the RSS. He asserted that the BJP’s continued rule poses a danger to the Constitution and the people’s voting rights, rights, and freedoms. Kharge accused the RSS of being against the country’s independence. He contradicted PM Modi’s statement about the RSS’s long-standing service to the nation, highlighting the RSS’s opposition to the freedom movement and its alleged role in Gandhi’s assassination. He also claimed that the RSS sought concessions from the British. Kharge stressed the importance of the right to vote granted by the Constitution, crediting Nehru and Ambedkar for their contributions. He mentioned the removal of 65 lakh voters from the voter list in Bihar and accused the BJP of voter list manipulation. Kharge pointed out the government’s actions to disregard the Supreme Court, citing the appointment of the Chief Election Commissioner. He also spoke about Rahul Gandhi’s ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ which is to commence from Sasaram, spanning 1,300 km across 20 districts in 16 days, and concluding on September 1 at Gandhi Maidan.
