
The state of Bihar is poised for a substantial leap in its energy sector with the construction of its largest power plant in Bhagalpur. This project, with a capacity of 2400 MW, is planned to be completed within three years, with an investment of Rs 21,000 crore, and will cover an area of 1020 acres. The project is set to enhance Bihar’s energy security and stimulate industrial growth.
The power plant, being developed by Adani Power, is expected to create employment for thousands of people. The Energy Secretary has emphasized the importance of completing the project within the stipulated timeframe. A foundation stone laying ceremony is anticipated on September 15th in Purnia, to be led by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
The location of the plant benefits from its proximity to the Ganga River, the ancient Vikramshila University, and significant railway connectivity through ongoing projects. This strategic positioning enhances logistical efficiency.
This thermal power plant will generate employment for thousands of people. The Chief Secretary of the Energy Department and Managing Director reviewed the project’s progress and instructed officials to speed up the work. This power plant will be a milestone for Bihar, generating employment for the people. The DM, Dr. Naval Kishore Chaudhary, said that the project would bring big changes to the economic condition of the area and would provide large-scale employment opportunities to the local residents.
