In a move to connect traditional art with modern opportunities, a new Mithila painting training center has been launched in Patna. The center, supported by the Bihar Skill Development Mission, will offer comprehensive training to young people, with a special focus on empowering women through skill development and employment. The primary goal of the program is to provide participants with the necessary skills to excel in Mithila painting. This training will enable them to not only refine their artistic abilities but also to transform their skills into a source of income. The initiative aims to conserve the state’s rich cultural heritage while promoting economic independence. The training center will provide free training, materials, and technical support to help trainees start their own businesses or secure jobs in government and private projects. The department plans to extend similar training to other local art forms. This program is expected to create sustainable employment opportunities for local youth and promote Bihar’s cultural identity on a wider scale.
