The passport service mobile van camp in Lakhisarai, Bihar, is now operational, starting Tuesday. The Regional Passport Office Patna is conducting this camp from July 1st to July 3rd, 2025. The camp was inaugurated by Swadha Rizvi, Regional Passport Officer, Patna, and Mithilesh Mishra, District Magistrate of Lakhisarai.
The initiative stems from the increasing number of applicants at Post Office Passport Seva Kendras and the absence of a passport service center in Lakhisarai. The goal is to bring passport-related services directly to the local community.
Since May 12, 2025, the government has been issuing passports with embedded chips that contain applicant information. This camp is the tenth organized since April 2024, following earlier camps in Siwan, Gopalganj, Purnia, and Bagaha.
Both new passport applications and re-issue applications are being accepted. Each day, 55 appointment slots are available. For online registration and more details, visit www.passportindia.gov.in. Applicants are required to complete the online application, pay the fee, and book an appointment. They must bring original and photocopied documents, along with photographs, to the camp for verification of application details and certificates.
Applications for Police Clearance Certificates, those held up due to certificate issues, and those without prior online appointments will not be accepted. The website provides detailed information on necessary documents.
The Regional Passport Office, Patna is committed to this service. The Bihar Police received an award for their performance in passport application verification in 2024-25, with support from the Regional Passport Office, Patna.
