
A new Vande Bharat Express train has been inaugurated to connect Patliputra (Patna) and Gorakhpur, providing improved connectivity between Bihar and Uttar Pradesh. This is the 71st Vande Bharat train in the country, furthering the government’s aim of deploying 75 such trains. The train will initially run at a speed of 110 kmph. The service will commence on June 22nd.
The train will have nine stops along the route: Hajipur, Muzaffarpur, Bapudham, Motihari, Sagauli, Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, Bagaha, and Kaptanganj. The fare for an AC chair car seat between Patliputra and Gorakhpur is set at Rs 925, while the executive class fare is Rs 1820. The train will run six days a week, excluding Saturdays. The train will depart from Gorakhpur at 5:40 am and arrive in Patliputra at 12:45 pm. The return journey will depart from Patliputra at 3:30 pm, reaching Gorakhpur at 11:30 pm.
