
Odisha Vigilance officials arrested Revenue Inspector (RI) Manoj Kumar Behera and Amin Bichitrananda Satpathy of Kandarpur Revenue Circle, Cuttack district, on Thursday. The pair were apprehended while allegedly accepting a bribe of Rs 12,000. The bribe was taken from a shop owner located near the Kandarpur revenue office. The purpose of the bribe was to secure a favorable report in a mutation case, which involved converting agricultural land into homestead land and issuing an ROR (Patta). The entire amount of the bribe has been seized. Authorities are conducting simultaneous searches at three premises linked to Behera and two linked to Satpathy. These searches aim to uncover any assets acquired through illicit means. A case has been registered under Section 7 of the PC (Amendment) Act, 2018, and further inquiries are in progress.
