The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has alerted Odisha residents about the likelihood of heavy to very heavy rainfall, accompanied by thunderstorms, lasting through July 7th. A cyclonic circulation over south Jharkhand and the active southwest monsoon are the primary drivers of this weather. Alongside the rainfall, coastal areas are likely to experience squally weather with strong winds, making the sea rough. Fishermen are strongly advised not to go to sea. The IMD has issued Orange and Yellow warnings for several districts, providing details on the intensity and location of the expected weather phenomena, including heavy rainfall and strong surface winds.
