Odisha is facing a spell of heavy to very heavy rainfall, with an orange alert in effect for eight districts until July 3. The IMD reports that a low-pressure area is the primary driver of this weather, which originated in the Bay of Bengal and is now moving across North Odisha and neighboring regions. Mayurbhanj, Keonjhar, Sundargarh, Sambalpur, Nabarangpur, Kalahandi, Jharsuguda, and Koraput are the districts under the orange warning. The coastal regions are also expected to experience strong winds and rough seas, leading to warnings against fishing activities.
