The Patna Metro project, highly anticipated by the public, is set to commence today. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar will be present at the inauguration ceremony to flag off the first phase of the metro service. The launch is scheduled for 11 am from the metro station near the Patliputra Bus Terminal depot, with the initial operational route spanning from Bhootnath to New ISBT.
The Patna Metro Rail Corporation (PMRC) has completed all the necessary preparations for the commencement of operations. In addition, the Chief Minister will lay the foundation stone for six underground metro stations, including Patna Junction, and a 9.35-kilometer-long tunnel under Corridor One. The metro coaches will showcase Madhubani paintings, providing a glimpse of Bihar’s rich cultural heritage.
The interiors of all metro coaches will feature depictions of popular tourist attractions in Bihar, such as Golghar, the Mahavir Temple, the Mahabodhi Tree, the Buddha Stupa, and the ruins of Nalanda, through attractive stickers.
