In Patna, a woman has filed a complaint against a man at the women’s police station, alleging love jihad, fraud, assault, and forced religious conversion. The woman says that the man, a PG student, hid his religious identity and presented himself as Hindu, forming a relationship with her. She stated that he used the name ‘Sonu’ to gain her trust and performed religious rituals.
After establishing a relationship, he began to pressure her to convert to Islam. The woman claims she was subjected to physical abuse, forced to eat beef, and compelled to learn Islamic prayers and tenets. When she refused to convert, he married another woman. She reported being attacked by the man’s family after discovering the marriage. Despite initially facing difficulties, an FIR was eventually registered on June 19, though the woman claims it does not include relevant sections related to love jihad. Police officer Atulesh Jha has confirmed that the investigation is ongoing and that appropriate legal actions will be taken.
