Prime Minister Narendra Modi responded to the uproar surrounding the Bihar rally, where alleged abusive comments were made concerning his late mother. He rebuked Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav for their alleged roles in the incident. The Prime Minister expressed that his mother was verbally attacked on the Opposition’s campaign platform, an act that he considered an insult to every mother and sister in the country.
Modi’s remarks followed the launch of the Bihar Rajya Jeevika Nidhi Saakh Sahkari Sangh Limited, which aims to facilitate financial access for women entrepreneurs in Bihar. Speaking to approximately 20 lakh women via video conference, he shared anecdotes about his late mother, Heeraben Modi, and her struggles with poverty while raising her children. He highlighted her sacrifices and hard work, illustrating the significant role mothers play in Indian society. Modi condemned the offensive language used during the joint Congress-RJD rally, emphasizing that it dishonored all women. He contrasted his own upbringing with those of individuals born into political dynasties, stating that the privileged do not understand the hardships of the underprivileged.
