A major disruption marked the NDA’s workers’ conference in Nabinagar, Aurangabad, Bihar, on Sunday. The event saw a public confrontation between Virendra Kumar Singh, a former MP and MLA, and Sanjeev Kumar Singh, both contenders for the party ticket from the same assembly seat. The two leaders engaged in a heated argument directly on stage.
The incident caused a significant disturbance, with supporters of Sanjeev Singh voicing their support. BJP’s Aurangabad district in-charge Trivikram Narayan Singh and LJP (Ram Vilas) district president Chandrabhushan Singh alias Sonu Singh worked to restore order among the workers and the feuding leaders.
The trouble started when Sanjeev Singh arrived on stage with supporters who began chanting slogans. The former MLA took issue with this, leading to an immediate escalation. The situation was calmed momentarily when Sanjeev Singh’s supporters were persuaded to take their seats.
The tensions did not subside. During a speech, a JDU leader praised the former MLA, which prompted a further outburst from Sanjeev Singh’s supporters. The former MLA then confronted Sanjeev Singh directly on stage. The details of their exchange remained unclear.
In response, the BJP and LJP leaders intervened and calmed the situation. The conference was able to proceed, with a notable emphasis on the support shown for Sanjeev Singh while the former MLA received no vocal support.
