Preparations are underway for the upcoming assembly elections in Bihar. A key point of discussion is the selection of the Chief Ministerial candidate for the opposition’s Mahagathbandhan. Tejashwi Yadav, an RJD leader, has repeatedly expressed his desire to lead. At a recent TV9 Digital Bihar gathering, he reiterated his claim to the top post. This has triggered several reactions.
BJP Rajya Sabha MP Manan Kumar Mishra criticized Yadav’s claims, stating that Yadav is declaring himself CM without public backing. Mishra suggested that the alliance is fractured as the election nears.
“Even Congress Doesn’t Recognize Tejashwi as CM Candidate”
The MP asserted that even the Congress party doesn’t consider Yadav a viable CM candidate, as the party has not made any statements supporting his candidacy. Mishra implied that this situation reveals issues within the alliance.
“No Issues Within the Alliance Regarding the CM Face”
Congress spokesperson Rajesh Rathore said that the CM will be chosen by the party, not by individual leaders. He highlighted that the party is contesting under Tejashwi Yadav’s guidance. Rathore mentioned that Yadav had stated the CM face would be decided through mutual agreement. He also said the alliance had no issues regarding the CM candidate.
“If 2020 Votes Were Not Compromised, Tejashwi Would be CM Today”
The Congress spokesperson added that the India alliance leadership will decide on the CM candidate and that the decision will be announced at the appropriate time. He also added that if there was no vote rigging in 2020, Yadav would be CM today.
Tejashwi Declares Himself the CM Candidate
Earlier, during the TV9 Digital Bihar meeting, Tejashwi Yadav said he is the only candidate for the CM position. He declared that he is the CM, and an official announcement will follow the seat-sharing agreement.
