As part of the ongoing ‘Voter Rights Yatra’ in Bihar, led by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi to oppose the SIR process, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra is set to participate. She joined the yatra on August 26th, coinciding with Hartalika Teej, along with Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. Priyanka plans to be part of the yatra for two days and is expected to be in Sitamarhi on Ganesh Chaturthi. Discussions are underway for Rahul and Priyanka to visit the Janaki Temple, but security and logistical clearances are pending.
The Mahagathbandhan’s voter rights yatra moved from Supaul to Madhubani, with Priyanka Gandhi joining Rahul and Tejashwi. This marked her first participation, and she acknowledged the public’s greetings. A large crowd gathered to see her.
Priyanka has chosen significant days to be part of the yatra. Her first day aligned with Hartalika Teej, a key festival for women in Bihar, with women along the route showing their celebrations. Priyanka engaged with women at a camp, listening to their concerns.
The second day, Ganesh Chaturthi, will see the yatra enter Sitamarhi, the land of Mother Janaki. Congress strategists are focused on arranging a visit to the Janaki Temple for Rahul, Priyanka, and Tejashwi. According to Alka Lamba, Priyanka chose to engage with women during their festivals and intends to visit the Janaki Temple.
Reports suggest that Rahul and Priyanka wish to visit the Janaki Temple. Their strategists are trying to manage security and routes, but the temple visit is still uncertain.
The BJP raised the issue of the Gandhi family’s absence from the Ayodhya Ram Temple. The Congress responded, highlighting the concerns of the Shankaracharyas and describing the event as a BJP publicity campaign. They also mentioned Rajiv Gandhi’s role in opening the Ram Temple.
