
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will be in Purnia, Bihar, on September 15th to launch development projects totaling over ₹40,000 crore, according to Deputy Chief Minister Samrat Choudhary. A key component of this visit will be the inauguration of a new interim terminal at Purnia Airport, which will also mark the beginning of commercial flight operations. This will drastically improve the connectivity of the Seemanchal area. The Prime Minister’s past contributions to Bihar include a ₹1.65 lakh crore special economic package in 2015, accompanied by his numerous visits to the state. During this visit, the Prime Minister will also oversee the launch of other significant projects, such as those linked to the Namami Gange program in Bhagalpur, and the establishment of a sex-sorted semen production center in Purnia, as well as a railway line from Araria to Galgaliya. The new airport terminal is expected to significantly strengthen air connectivity across Bihar, which possesses the airport with the longest runway in the state. The upcoming trip will see the introduction of a number of projects. These include a thermal power project in Bhagalpur, water supply projects in multiple districts, and the distribution of community investment funds under the NRLM. The visit will further include the launch of new railway services.
