The India Meteorological Department has issued a severe weather warning for eight districts in Odisha, anticipating heavy rain, thunderstorms, and lightning. An orange alert is in effect for Balangir, Bargarh, Jharsuguda, Khurdha, Nuapada, Puri, Sambalpur, and Sundargarh. The IMD’s nowcast, released at 9:55 PM, forecasts that these districts will experience moderate rain, thunderstorms, lightning, and wind speeds of 30-40 kmph within the next three hours.
