
In Nawada, Bihar, a young girl’s attempt to quench her thirst resulted in a devastating ordeal. While with her friends, the girl asked her brother-in-law, who she encountered, for water. Allegedly, the brother-in-law provided her with water mixed with alcohol. As the alcohol affected her, she was taken to an isolated location where three of the man’s friends were present. The group of four then reportedly committed gang rape. Police swiftly responded by initiating raids, leading to the arrest of one suspect. The pursuit of the other perpetrators is ongoing. The incident occurred within the Warisaliganj police station area. A 14-year-old girl from a Mahadalit family was the victim of a gang rape perpetrated by several individuals from her community. The incident occurred on Saturday evening near the Sakri River, a short distance from the Mahadalit settlement. The girl and her friends had been collecting firewood when she became thirsty and asked her brother-in-law, who was drinking alcohol, for water. The victim’s mother alleges that her daughter was given alcohol instead of water by the brother-in-law and his companions, who then took her to a secluded area and repeatedly raped her. The girl’s friends informed her family that she had disappeared after asking for water. The family located the girl and notified the police. One suspect has confessed to the crime.
