The upcoming Bihar assembly elections have spurred intense strategic planning among various political factions. Bhojpuri film star Pawan Singh’s recent meetings in Delhi with Upendra Kushwaha, the leader of the Rashtriya Lok Morcha, and Union Home Minister Amit Shah have become a focal point of political discourse. Tej Pratap Yadav, the head of Jan Shakti Janata Dal and the son of RJD supremo Lalu Prasad, shared his insights on these meetings.
Speaking to the press in Patna, Tej Pratap Yadav commented on Pawan Singh’s actions, suggesting they are typical of someone who seeks patronage. He cited instances from Singh’s past to support his viewpoint. He believes that Pawan Singh, as an artist, should focus on his artistic career instead of participating in politics, as he sees the latter as unsuitable for him.
Tej Pratap stated that Pawan Singh is continually trying to ingratiate himself with different figures. He questioned Singh’s judgment and advised him to prioritize his artistic pursuits. He voiced his support for the initiative to get Chhath Puja recognized by UNESCO, calling it a positive step for the significant festival in Bihar. He shared that his mother used to participate in the puja and expressed his support for its promotion.
Additionally, Tej Pratap discussed his party’s election symbol and the positive message it conveys. He criticized Prashant Kishor, mentioning the ‘yellow flag bearers’ and their association with school bags, implying that they, too, seek guidance from the blackboard. He highlighted his party’s support base in Bihar and their commitment to addressing issues at the ground level. He stated that he is a leader who works on the ground, unlike those who are only involved in politics at a higher level.
Tej Pratap also discussed an incident involving a hoarding that mentioned the presence of alcohol in school bags. He narrated a specific event in which a disabled individual was allegedly harmed by a vehicle connected to Prashant Kishor’s organization. He announced his plan to visit the location and mentioned his communication with the local authorities regarding the matter, seeking appropriate action.
