A dangerous incident unfolded early Saturday morning in Vaishali, Bihar, as a truck collided with the convoy of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. The accident occurred near Goraul on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway while Yadav was returning to Patna following a political engagement in Madhepura.
The convoy had paused for a tea break around 12:30 AM when the collision occurred. While Tejashwi Yadav was a few meters away, the runaway truck struck the vehicles of his security detail. Thankfully, Yadav’s personal vehicle escaped damage, and he was unharmed.
Three security officials sustained injuries in the crash and were immediately transported to a nearby hospital. Yadav visited them to check on their recovery and express his concern. The injured officials are now in stable condition, though they received some serious injuries. The local police promptly arrested the truck driver at the scene, and the truck was taken into custody. Investigations into the cause of the accident are ongoing.
This incident has sparked renewed concerns about the safety of political figures traveling long distances in Bihar, particularly at night. Social media was abuzz with reactions, as RJD supporters expressed relief and demanded improved road safety measures and enforcement of traffic rules. Party leaders have urged a thorough probe into VIP security protocols, particularly in conditions with poor visibility. Tejashwi Yadav has since resumed his regular activities and assured the public of his well-being.
