An accident occurred on Saturday morning involving the convoy of Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav. A speeding truck collided with two of his convoy vehicles near Goraul in Vaishali district while he was returning to Patna from a political gathering in Madhepura.
The convoy had stopped for a brief tea break along the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway at 12:30 AM. Tejashwi Yadav was a short distance away at the time of the incident. The truck struck the stationary vehicles of his security personnel. Fortunately, his personal vehicle was not hit, and he was unharmed.
The collision resulted in injuries to three security officials who were quickly transported to a local hospital. Tejashwi Yadav visited the injured officials and expressed his concern. The three officials are now reported to be in stable condition, though they sustained bruises and minor fractures.
The truck driver was immediately apprehended by the local police, and the truck was taken into custody. An investigation has been launched to determine the cause of the accident. Preliminary reports suggest the possibility of speeding or driver fatigue, but a comprehensive investigation is underway.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of political figures traveling long distances in Bihar, particularly during nighttime hours. RJD supporters took to social media, expressing relief that Yadav was safe and demanding improved road safety measures and enforcement of traffic rules.
Party leaders are calling for a thorough investigation of the VIP security protocols on the road, especially considering conditions with low visibility and potential road hazards.
Tejashwi Yadav, who maintains a busy political schedule and travels extensively throughout Bihar, has resumed his normal activities and has reassured his followers that he is safe and unperturbed.
