Former Bihar Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav, a prominent figure in the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), was involved in a near-miss accident early Saturday morning. A speeding truck collided with two vehicles in his convoy near Goraul in Vaishali district. Yadav was returning to Patna after a political event in Madhepura. The convoy had stopped for a break on the Patna-Muzaffarpur highway around 12:30 AM. While Yadav was a short distance away, the truck struck the vehicles of his security detail. Fortunately, Yadav’s personal vehicle was not affected, and he escaped unharmed. Three security personnel were injured in the crash and received immediate medical attention at a nearby hospital. Tejashwi Yadav visited the injured officials, demonstrating his concern for their well-being. The injured officials are now reported to be in stable condition, with minor injuries. The truck driver was apprehended at the scene, and the vehicle was taken into custody by local authorities. An investigation is ongoing to determine the cause of the accident, including the possibility of speeding or driver fatigue. The incident has raised renewed concerns regarding the safety of political leaders traveling long distances on Bihar’s roads, especially at night. RJD supporters and others took to social media, expressing relief and calling for enhanced road safety measures and better enforcement of traffic regulations. Party leaders have urged a detailed review of VIP security protocols, particularly in scenarios involving poor visibility or nighttime travel. Tejashwi Yadav, known for his active engagement in Bihar politics and extensive travel, has resumed his normal schedule and has assured his followers of his safety and well-being.
