The Professor Colony, situated close to the university, is entirely submerged, trapping its residents. Professors, teachers, and their families are facing severe difficulties as many of their homes are flooded, disrupting their daily lives. The PG Women’s Hostel has been evacuated due to the rising waters. However, some faculty members in the Professor Colony find themselves trapped, unable to leave or find safe areas. Families are forced to evacuate their homes with their belongings, using temporary methods of transport. People are also utilizing carts to move around, including accessing the college and departments.
The Professor Colony is experiencing heightened risks due to the presence of hazardous creatures. Local residents express concern about venomous snakes, such as Russell’s vipers, which are often seen in the area, and the floodwaters are increasing this threat. The potential spread of diseases is also a major concern. The contaminated water, unsanitary conditions, and mosquito infestations are escalating the risk of infections and waterborne illnesses. The lack of access to clean drinking water is making the situation worse. Affected people are seeking assistance from the authorities, but the water levels continue to rise, making the situation increasingly critical.
