
Marking the third Monday of Sawan, 60 Kanwariyas from Bhagwanpur Vishunpur Bande village in Vaishali district commenced their journey to the Baba Garibnath Temple in Muzaffarpur, carrying a 331-foot-long Kanwar. The Kanwariyas began their pilgrimage by collecting water from the Paleza Ganga Ghat in Saran district, with the temple approximately 70 kilometers away.
The pilgrimage is being undertaken on foot. The construction of the colossal Kanwar was overseen by Mahesh Gupta.
For the past five years, the devotees have been undertaking this pilgrimage. The Kanwar is created annually with the assistance of the villagers, with a cost of 1.5 lakh rupees. The unique Kanwar attracted large crowds along the Paleza Ganga Ghat to Hajipur-Muzaffarpur Kanwar route.
A Hajipur resident expressed her admiration for the 331-foot Kanwar, emphasizing the spiritual importance of visiting Lord Shiva’s temple. Mahesh Bhagat, leading the Kanwar, stated that the procession included 60 Shiva devotees, alongside 40 additional supporters.
A total of 100 Shiva devotees are participating in this Kanwar Yatra. Hundreds of devotees are chanting ‘Bol Bam’ as they journey towards Baba Garibnath Temple. They are carrying water from the Uttarahini Ganga at Paleza Ghat, which is about 70 kilometers from the temple. Mahesh Bhagat confirmed this is their fifth consecutive Kanwar Yatra.
