Rahul Gandhi, the Congress party’s leading voice, has launched a ‘Vote Adhikar Yatra’ in Bihar, aiming to address alleged vote manipulation before the upcoming elections. He is accompanied by prominent leaders from the INDIA coalition, including Tejashwi Yadav and Dipankar Bhattacharya, as they criticize the current government.
During the campaign, Gandhi highlighted a social media post by Nitish Kumar, which questioned whether a government that comes to power through stolen votes can truly serve the public. Gandhi agreed with this view, claiming that such a government is indifferent to the needs of the people because it did not gain power through their votes.
He cited the current state of affairs, mentioning the alarming rise in unemployment and the alleged focus on benefiting capitalists.
Gandhi also condemned the government’s handling of examination scams, such as those related to NEET and SSC exams, highlighting the damage done to the careers of numerous students. He also brought up the issue of rising inflation and its negative impact on the lives of ordinary citizens.
Furthermore, he mentioned infrastructure failures, such as rail accidents and collapsing roads, and the government’s failure to ensure accountability. He also pointed to the lack of responsibility taken by the government in the face of violence and terror incidents.
He connected these issues to significant events like demonetization, the COVID-19 pandemic, and the farmers’ protests, criticizing the government’s lack of empathy. He attributed these shortcomings to a government that he claims was not elected by the people but rather, gained power through vote theft.
Rahul Gandhi accused the government of being unconcerned about the people’s welfare, regardless of their circumstances. He claimed the government is assured of returning to power regardless of the public’s choice.
He emphasized the significance of a clean voter list for fair elections, urging citizens to protect their right to vote. He called for the election of a government that is truly representative, accountable, and responsible to the people. He urged citizens to use their votes to protect the nation and uphold the constitution.
