A dispute has arisen in Bihar concerning the voter list, with the Election Commission (EC) countering claims of missing names. The controversy involves allegations made by Tejashwi Yadav, the RJD leader, and a retired IAS officer. Yadav had previously shared a post, purportedly from Vyas Ji, alleging that the names of the former IAS officer and his wife were absent from the voter list. The EC has dismissed these claims, stating that both names are present in the draft voter list published on August 1, 2025, as part of the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) campaign. Vyas Ji, in a Facebook post, detailed his experience using the online portal to search for his and his wife’s names. He noted that he was instructed to contact his BLO despite already having submitted the necessary forms. He expressed frustration with the system and questioned its fairness. The EC also refuted Yadav’s claim that his name was missing from the draft voter list, confirming that it was present at serial number 416. Yadav had attempted to locate his name using his EPIC number during a press conference, but without success, according to him.
