Tejashwi Yadav’s rally against the Waqf Amendment Act has sparked a strong reaction from political leaders in Bihar. Deputy Chief Minister Vijay Kumar Sinha and Union Minister Jitan Ram Manjhi have criticized the rally, with Sinha accusing the opposition of using the Waqf Bill issue to undermine democratic processes. Sinha stated that the bill addresses satisfaction and not appeasement. He alleged that the RJD and Congress are aiming to create a government of exploitation. Sinha highlighted that the bill was passed by the Parliament following directions from the Supreme Court and does not interfere with religious freedom.
Sinha also pointed out that the Waqf Board will not include non-Islamic members for religious donation-related tasks. He clarified that non-Muslim members will not be involved in religious activities. The role of the Waqf Board should be to remove individuals who are selling Waqf properties. He accused the RJD-Congress of creating confusion and chaos.
Jitan Ram Manjhi has criticized Tejashwi Yadav for attempting to capitalize on the Waqf issue for political advantage. Manjhi claimed that Tejashwi will fail. He challenged Tejashwi to remove illegal occupants from Waqf lands. Manjhi said that 90% of the illegal occupants are linked to Tejashwi Yadav’s party. He concluded that the current situation is a result of the actions of his parents’ administration.
