A heart-wrenching case has emerged from Munger, Bihar, where a young woman took her life just months after her marriage. The husband’s affair with his aunt was the cause. The wife objected, but the husband did not stop the relationship. The family has accused the husband and in-laws of cruelty, leading to an FIR. The police have sent the body for a post-mortem and are investigating the matter. The victim, Mausam, was married to Ajay Tanti on May 5th. The family alleges that Ajay was in an affair with his aunt, despite her having four children. When Mausam confronted him, Ajay allegedly stated he would not leave his aunt and that she could do what she wished. The in-laws also allegedly harassed Mausam for dowry. Mausam’s mother stated that Ajay told her daughter he didn’t love her and wanted her to die so he could find peace in his aunt’s arms. Distraught by this, Mausam ended her life.
