Prakash Reddy, a spokesperson for the Telangana BJP, has issued a stark assessment of the Mahagathbandhan alliance in Bihar, declaring it to be a “divided bandhan” on the eve of state elections. Reddy argued that the opposition coalition lacks genuine unity, pointing to internal divisions within parties like the Congress and RJD, and predicting a significant loss for them in the upcoming polls.
“The Mahagathbandhan is no longer a united front; it’s a ‘divided bandhan.’ There’s a clear lack of cohesion among Congress, RJD, and their allies. The NDA is up against a fragmented opposition. This division is palpable, and voters are aware of it. I am confident the Mahagathbandhan will face a substantial defeat and will not form the government,” Reddy stated.
Reddy also focused his criticism on Rahul Gandhi, questioning his absence from active campaigning in Bihar. He implied that Gandhi’s ‘vote chori’ padayatra was ill-conceived and that he is now avoiding Bihar due to the scrutiny his statements have attracted. “Rahul Gandhi’s ‘vote chori’ padayatra seems to have ended, and his presence in Bihar’s election campaign is now absent. Faced with questions about his ‘vote chori’ allegations, he appears to be sidestepping Bihar. His political relevance in Bihar is minimal, with any traction primarily coming from the RJD. Compounding this, internal RJD family disputes further erode their public trust. Voters have lost faith in both the RJD and Congress,” he commented.
Furthermore, Reddy drew parallels between the Congress’s electoral promises in Telangana and their perceived failure to deliver. He suggested that this pattern of unfulfilled guarantees would be exposed to the electorate in Bihar. “The Congress’s unkept promises in Telangana are well-documented, and this same narrative of failed guarantees is now unfolding in Bihar,” he said. Reddy concluded with a confident prediction of an NDA victory: “The NDA is poised to form the government in Bihar on November 14.”
The 2025 Bihar Elections are expected to be a key electoral battle between the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) and the Mahagathbandhan. The Mahagathbandhan comprises the RJD, Congress, CPI-ML, CPI, CPM, and VIP. The NDA includes the BJP, JD(U), LJP (Ram Vilas), HAM (Secular), and RLMO. Political strategist Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj is also contending for all 243 seats. The elections are slated for November 6 and 11, with results to be announced on November 14.
