During a joint press conference in Brussels, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar articulated India’s viewpoint on the ongoing situation. He clarified that the focus isn’t a conventional conflict between India and Pakistan, but a response to the pervasive threat of terrorism. He underscored India’s consistent policy of zero tolerance towards terrorism and its determination not to yield to nuclear blackmail. When probed about the India-Pakistan dynamic, Jaishankar requested a shift in perspective, encouraging a view of the situation as ‘India-Terroristan’. This reframing aims to highlight the fight against terrorism. He also emphasized the need for strong international cooperation, highlighting that terrorism is a shared challenge for the global community. Jaishankar’s meeting with Kaja Kallas involved discussions on global issues, including the Ukraine conflict, the Middle East, the Indian subcontinent, and the Indo-Pacific region.
