Amidst the ongoing search for a missing Indore woman, Sonam Raghuvanshi, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan Yadav has sought a CBI investigation into the case. Her husband, Raja Raghuvanshi, was found deceased after the couple went missing in Shillong, Meghalaya. The Chief Minister has reached out to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, urging a CBI inquiry to bring closure to the family. CM Yadav has also engaged with the Meghalaya Chief Minister and deployed senior police officers to assist in the investigation. Prior to this, Raja’s family had written to Prime Minister Narendra Modi, requesting the CBI to take over the case following the recovery of Raja’s remains from a gorge in Cherrapunji. The couple was last in contact on May 23, during their honeymoon, before their phones went silent. Raja’s brother, Vipul Raghuvanshi, voiced the family’s plea for a CBI inquiry, citing concerns about the current investigation’s effectiveness. Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma has expressed his condolences and assured full cooperation in the matter.
