No more trips to the tehsil for land transfer

Land transfer will now happen along with registration

Raipur, April 25, 2025 / On the instructions of Chief Minister Shri Vishnu Deo Sai, a major decision has been taken for the convenience of the common citizens. Now, there will be no need to make rounds of tehsils for the transfer of land. After the Chief Minister’s instructions, the right of transfer has been given to the registrar from the tehsildar. A notification to this effect has been published in the Chhattisgarh Gazette on April 24.

After purchasing land, its transfer is necessary. For this, an application had to be submitted to the concerned tehsil. The further process was completed through the Tehsildar’s court. This raised the apprehension of land fraud. In addition, landowners were troubled due to the long pendency of the transfer process. To solve this problem, the State Government has given the powers of transfer received by the Tehsildar under Section 110 of the Chhattisgarh Land Revenue Code to the Registrar and Sub-Registrar posted in the district.
