The Chhattisgarh government, under Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai, is prioritizing the expansion of banking services to rural areas. The aim is to facilitate financial access for farmers, business owners, and residents, fostering economic activity and aiding in the effective implementation of government programs. The establishment of these banks is expected to improve financial inclusion in the area.
Three new branches of the Chhattisgarh State Rural Bank have been virtually launched in Jashpur district, located in Ara, Kudekela, and Chichli. The Chief Minister also presented the 12th annual report of the bank during the ceremony.
The initiative is set to benefit over 44,000 rural residents from 23 gram panchayats and 48 dependent villages. This will provide convenient access to banking services, reducing the need for long-distance travel and saving both time and money for the villagers.
Furthermore, the government has established Atal Digital Suvidha Kendras in 268 panchayats across the district. These centers have already facilitated transactions of around 15 crore rupees and will be expanded to all panchayats by the upcoming Panchayat Day. These centers offer banking, insurance, and government scheme-related services within the villages.
