Unprecedented rainfall in the Bastar division has triggered a disaster, with extensive flooding and infrastructural damage. The continuous downpour over the last two days has resulted in submerged roads, collapsed bridges, and overflowing rivers. Several villages have been completely inundated. The district headquarters is now isolated due to severed communication lines. Local authorities are on high alert, and the army has been called in to lead rescue operations. The Indian Air Force is supporting these efforts by deploying helicopters to deliver essential supplies and transport people to safer grounds. The Chief Minister, currently on an international visit, has expressed their concern over the crisis in Bastar.
