A 17-year-old boy tragically lost his life in a road accident in the Supela area of Bhilai on Monday night. The accident occurred when he was riding a scooter with a friend. The boy attempted to avoid hitting a stray dog that had crossed the road, causing him to lose control of the scooter. The scooter subsequently crashed, leading to the boy falling into a drain and sustaining fatal injuries. His companion was injured.
The incident took place near Lakdi Taal within the Supela police station area. The deceased has been identified as Ronak Dubey. According to sources, Ronak and his friend were on their way to lock a temple when they encountered the dog. Ronak’s attempt to avoid the dog resulted in a loss of control, with the scooter veering off the road and into a drain.
The impact of the crash caused Ronak to fall into the drain. He suffered serious head injuries, resulting in his death at the scene. His friend, riding as a passenger, was thrown from the scooter but sustained only minor injuries.
The entire incident was captured on CCTV footage from a shop nearby. The video shows local residents rushing to the scene to offer assistance and help the injured individuals. The video has quickly spread across social media.
Police have initiated an investigation and the body was sent for post-mortem. The unexpected death of Ronak has deeply saddened his family and the local community.
