A severe road accident in Bilaspur’s Koni police station area resulted in the immediate death of a motorcyclist. The accident took place near the Ghutku underbridge on Wednesday morning. The victim, Om Prakash Kewat, a 25-year-old resident of Chorbhatti Khurd, was on his way to operate a tractor in Nauroti Kapa around 6:30 AM. While riding his Splendor motorcycle (CG10BT0644) at about 6:45 AM, a recklessly driven pickup truck collided with his vehicle. The impact caused severe head injuries, leading to his instant death. Shiv Kumar Yadav, the tractor owner, alerted the family. Police were notified, completed the necessary procedures, and sent the body for a post-mortem. A case has been registered against the unidentified pickup truck driver under section 106(1)-BNS, and the investigation is in progress.
