In a major counter-insurgency success, Chhattisgarh’s Sukma district witnessed the neutralization of three Naxalites who collectively carried a bounty of Rs 15 lakh. The encounter took place in the forested terrain of Tumalpad village, situated on the border of Bhejji and Chintagufa police stations, following a targeted security operation initiated on Sunday morning.
Officials confirmed that the security forces engaged Maoist cadres after receiving credible information about their presence in the region. The ensuing firefight led to the recovery of the bodies of the three insurgents. Identified as Madvi Deva (area committee member), Podiam Gangi (CNM commander), and Sodhi Gangi (Kistaram area committee member), their elimination marks a significant victory for law enforcement.
Weapons and explosives, including Barrel Grenade Launchers and other sophisticated arms, were recovered from the scene, indicating the Naxalites’ operational capabilities. Security forces are continuing their rigorous search of the area. This operation is part of a broader strategy that has seen 233 Naxalites neutralized in the Bastar range this year, reinforcing the commitment to dismantle Maoist networks across the country.
